Government consider Wind Power for North  
Government is exploring wind power generation as an alternative source of energy in the northern part of the country.  The move is aimed at extending electricity to remote parts of the north, at lesser cost compared with thermal power.  

The Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission Dr. Ofosu Ahenkorah stated this during an interaction with staff of the Wa West District Assembly as part of a three day working visit to the Upper West Region.
