Agricultural chemicals to be produced locally  
The Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Percival Yaw Kuranchie, has announced plans by the government to assist local industries to produce agricultural chemicals which are not produced in the country. He said the production of such chemicals will enable the government to reduce the cost of importation.

Dr. Kuranchie said this when members of the Ghana Cocoa Board paid a working visit to Chemico Ghana Limited in Tema, to have first-hand knowledge about their operations Chemico Ghana Limited is a producer of chemicals used in the agricultural sector.

Dr. Kuranchie commended local industries for their commitment towards the growth of the agricultural sector. He appealed to the company to reduce the cost of chemicals to enable the ordinary farmer afford the products.

Dr. Kuranchie also spoke on the useful operations of Chemico Ghana Limited in the promotion of the agricultural industry.

The Deputy Managing Director of Chemico Ghana, Kwadwo Donkor, who conducted the board round the company called for an effective collaboration between the government and the local industries to improve the sector.
