Ghana spends most of her foreign exchange on rice importation

The Vice President, John Dramani Mahama, says Ghana cannot continue to use her scarce foreign exchange to import rice when she can grow it locally.

It is in line with this that the government is taking measures to encourage the youth to adopt appropriate, accessible and affordable modern technologies to increase food production.

The Vice President said this in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Deputy Minister of Roads and Transport, Mrs. Dzifa Ativor at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Mount Sinai congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church at Akosombo in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
