The District Chief Executive, DCE, for Adansi North Alhaji Abdul Madjoub says even though the district is faced with low revenue inflow, lack of office and residential accommodation, poor road network among other constraints, it has accepted these challenges and is putting in place measures to address them.
He said the assembly is constructing a three-storey office accommodation, one semi-detached senior staff bungalow, a four-unit staff quarters and a bungalow for the District Police Commander.
Alhaji Madjoub said this when he briefed the press at Fomena-Adansi in the Ashanti Region on problems hindering the district’s development.
He said the district which was carved out of the then Obuasi district in 2004 is currently operating from the Area Council buildings with staff of decentralized departments working from the community centre.
Alhaji Madjoub explained that apart from the DCE and District Co-ordinating Director, who have accommodation, the rest of the staff are staying in town, with some, commuting from Obuasi daily due to lack of accommodation in town.
