Ghana has been commended for Good Governance in Human Rights cases, among other African countries. It is going to be the second African country to establish a National Authority which will be responsible for enforcing the ECOWAS Community Court of Justices.
This was made known by the President of the Community Court of ECOWAS, Justice Awa Nana Daboya at a news conference in Accra.
Speaking on Protecting the Rights of Community Citizens under ECOWAS Treaty and Protocols, Justice Daboya said the court is for the people and the media should help create awareness of the existence, activities of the court, composition, competence and the court’s relevance to community citizens.
Justice Daboya was grateful for the positive assessment from the President, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chief Justice, Chamber of Commerce and the Ghana Bar Association.
