Members of the Club of Madrid, a forum of democratically elected former Heads of State and governments on Tuesday called on President Mills at the Castle Osu.

The call formed part of a two day forum by the former leaders in Accra which will discuss issues such as Climate Change, Globalization and Economic financial crisis. Among them were former President Kufuor and Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor told Radio Ghana after meeting President Mills at the Castle that the current economic challenges facing Ghana is a global one, but what Ghana needs to do is to develop the Private Sector.

He said government should formulate polices that will secure the country with the best partners to advance the country’s development.

The Head of Communications at the Presidency Koku Anyidoho who engaged former President Kufuor in a hearty conversation later told Radio Ghana that he has nothing against the former President as was put out in some sections of the media.
