President Atta Mills with Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo

Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo will arrive in Accra on Tuesday morning for a two-day visit. The visit will be his first since President John Evans Atta Mills came to power last January and follows a similar visit of Ghanaian President John Evans Atta Mills to La Cote d'Ivoire last April.

The two presidents are expected to discuss bilateral issues.

The Ivorian President is expected to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport at 1000 hours and after an inspection of a guard of honour with a 21-gun salute, would move to his hotel.

He would thereafter have private lunch and visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra and later meet with Ivorian citizens resident in Accra at 1700 hours at the residence of the Ambassador of La Cote d'Ivoire.

On Wednesday, President Gbagbo would meet President Mills at the Castle, Osu, for bilateral talks after which the two Presidents would issue a joint communiqué.

There would be luncheon in honour of the Ivorian leader at the Banquet Hall of the State House.

President Gbagbo returns to La Cote d'Ivoire late Wednesday afternoon.
