Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi says the Black Stars next achievement should be winning the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations for a record equaling fifth time in Angola. The Black Stars were bronze medalists at the last edition on home soil but the newly-found form of the team makes them chief favourites for the trophy.
The four-time African champions sealed an early qualification ticket to next year's World Cup in South Africa on Sunday.
Ghana last won the championship in the 1982 edition hosted by Libya.
Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi is optimistic the team must cap their nice form with the winning of the 27th edition of the Nations Cup.
"We want to go Angola and make a meaningful impact and somebody who was third if he says he's making a meaningful impact, it means he has to go beyond the third and the ultimate is the Cup. We are looking forward to that and it's not beyond our grab," Nyantakyi said at press conference.
"The second one is the world cup and we want to make a meaningful impact also at the World Cup.
"Various opinions have been expressed by Ghanaians. Some say it's an African World Cup so we have to get an African World Champion."
He added:"Even at Caf level they've said we need to see two teams at least one team-an African team in the semi-finals-and we are looking forward to being there and even going beyond."
"So we want to do our very best. With football you cannot just say I'm going to win the Cup.It's not as easy as that. But we're all wishing that we will get and win the Cup."
The Black Stars continue with their build up on Wednesday in an international friendly against Japan in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
