MOH commends female doctor
The Ministry of Health has congratulated Dr. Jean Ann Young, the only female doctor stationed at the Saboba District Hospital in the Northern Region for receiving an award at the maiden Women’s Awards in Accra.  In a statement the ministry said it acknowledges with pride the description of Dr. Young as a distinguished friend of Ghana and a missionary who values the lives of others more than hers and risked her life by staying back to save lives during the 1994 infamous Northern conflict.

This was at a time when some indigenes even fled the area.  The Ministry therefore called on all health professionals, especially medical doctors who have refused to accept postings to some parts of the country to have a second thought and let Dr. Young’s life be a guide.
