This year’s much-awaited Stars of the Future reality show was officially launched at the National Theatre last Tuesday. The ceremony which attracted a large number of personalities including some musicians was used to unveil the 12 finalists of this year’s edition of the music reality show.
Stars of the Future is a reality show that presents young talents between the ages of 16 and 26 with an opportunity to hone their talents, and sets them on a path to establishing their music careers.
Season four of the series began in May 2009 with 2 sets of auditions. The first set took place in Kumasi while the second set took place in Accra.
This year’s event has three competent judges, ace radio presenter Doreen Andoh, Producer extraordinaire Zapp Mallet and the CEO of EKB records, Kiki Banson.
Apart from the fact that this year’s event has very good talents, the inclusion of Kiki Banson who is recognized on the international music scene as one of Ghana’s competent music producers, is going to make the show a wonderful one.
A section of showbiz personalities told BEATWAVES that they are happy Kiki Banson is among the panel of judges for the show, adding that, that will give the contestants the opportunity to learn a lot from him.
According to Juno Abena Turkson, Public Relations Executive of Charterhouse, the 12 finalists would go through 13 weeks of grueling weekly performances and the dreaded evictions till the winner emerges.
She said the winner of Stars of the Future would take home a brand-new car and a whopping performance contract worth about GH¢25000 during his reign, courtesy MTN.
There will be a total of about GH¢9000 cash shared among the remaining finalists.
Courtesy of MTN, the weekly winners of the MTN Golden Moment will receive GH¢100 worth of airtime.
