The Daily Graphic calls on the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to create an enabling environment for the Aveyime Rice Project.  To the paper this will enable the project to thrive and become a model in the subregion.  The paper, also urges government to use the project as a growth pole and encourage the managers to begin the transfer of appropriate technology, skills and capacity to small-holder rice farmers in other parts of the country to bost rice production.  Increase in production of the staple crop the Graphic notes will be a catalyst for economic growth and social development.  The paper however, cautions the managers of the project to pay attention to the needs of the people in the areas, saying it is through the sacrifices of the people that government was able to acquire the large tract of land for the project.

Decongestion Tug of war is how the Ghanaian Times titles its editorial.  It says the reaction by a section of the public to the news that the Greater Accra Regional Minister had ordered the suspension of the decongestion exercise, was a sigh of relief to some traders in the market.  The paper therefore calls for intensive education among the stakeholder4s if the exercise is to succeed.

The Chronicle says politics on decongestion must be put aside and to clear the hawkers from the streets and pavements of the central business district of Accra.  The paper describes as unacceptable the way traders have taken over these streets thereby creating inconvenience for commuters and motorists.  It says, as the national capital of the country, government has the responsibility to ensure that there is orderliness on the streets.  To the Chronicle, Politicians should not kowtow to such pressures for fear of losing votes.

The Enquirer emphases the need for banks to assist indigenous mining companies to establish refineries.  In the view of the paper, having a refinery will help the mining companies cut down cost and expand their operations for the creation of employment.  It notes, the small scale mining if well harnessed will lead to the development of some communities.
