NBTS launches club 25 pledge 25
Ghana is yet to achieve a hundred percent voluntary blood donation.  To attain this goal, the National Blood Transfusion Service has launched a donor retention strategy, known as club 25 pledge 25, aimed at retaining young donors and building safe adult donors for the future.

Speaking at this year’s World Blood Donor Day Celebration and inauguration of the club in Accra, the president of the Global Power Ministry, Rev. Paa Ekow Quaye said the youth form the basis of a stable pool of blood donors.  He added that the achievement of the four health related Millennium Development Goals can be facilitated by efforts to attain universal access to safe blood.

The Director of the National Blood Transfusion Service, Dr. Justina K. Ansah called on Ghanaians to donate blood to contribute towards attaining a hundred percent voluntary blood donation in the country.  She said June 14 is a day set aside to express gratitude and recognize all voluntary blood Donors who donate on regular basis to help save lives.
