Use Drama to resolve developmental challenges
Use Drama to resolve developmental challenges
The Northern Regional Minister, Stephen Sumani Nayina has urged the people of the North to use drama to resolve the developmental challenges facing them. He said drama must  be used for education, information, communication, advocacy alongside other mechanisms in resolving conflicts and other social vices in society.

Mr. Nayina  said  this in a speech read on his behalf at the launch of Tiyumataba Drama Group in  Tamale.  He said the country is  clinging onto the foreign culture thereby neglecting the rich Ghanaian culture which is bringing about negative effects on the people.

The Northern Regional Director of the Centre for National Culture, Mr. James Adabuga, said besides criticizing the ills in society, drama can be used to educate people on their civic rights and responsibilities as well as on government policies.

He said the Tiyumtaba Drama Group is going to be used as a body to mitigate chieftaincy and land disputes. He said by dramatizing the issues, it will bring about a better understanding and appreciation of chieftaincy and religious differences amongst the people.
