The  Daily  Graphic identifies  as very disturbing  the  suspension of  the  enlistment of  persons into the  Ghana Police Service because of  inadequate  housing  facilities.  It  notes that the  reality is  that rooms  meant  for  newly trained recruits are  currently  being  occupied by Senior  Police  personnel and  their  families and  others reserved as kitchens  and  washrooms have to be  converted  into bedrooms for   other personnel .  As  a result of  these  factors  the  paper  welcomes the  decision by the  Police  Administration under the  leadership of Paul Tawiah Quaye to  determine  the   status of all  police projects in the  country within the  shortest possible time.

The  Daily  Graphic  seizes the  opportunity to appeal to government to  as  a matter of  urgency mobilize  resources to  complete  all police projects to provide decent accommodation for the  police.  It concludes that the strategic role played by the Police in maintaining security law and order makes the provision of accommodation for them a national priority.
