NHIA and Zoomlion to undertake cleanup exercise
The National Health Insurance Authority(NHIA), in collaboration with the 145 District Mutual Health Insurance Schemes is to embark on an awareness walk throughout the country, starting from today. A statement signed by the NHIA Chief Executive, Mr. Ras Boateng, said the programme aims at intensifying education on steps taken by the NHIS to address the concerns of subscribers.  

It said the Schemes would also step up registration of pregnant women and others at the end of the walk.

The statement added that apart from carrying out health checks in the regional and district capitals and educating the public on preventive care, the District Schemes will undertake clean-up exercises with support from Zoomlion.

It said mutual health insurance schemes in Accra and Tema metropolis will also embark on floats in the 8 scheme areas namely Ga District, Tema, Kpeshie, Osu Klottey, Ashiedu Keteke, Ablekuma, Ayawaso and Okaikoi.  

The awareness walk will end with a durbar at Dodowa in the Dangme West District.
