GWCL urged to engage more engineers to operate equipment

Frimpong Boateng has advised the management of the Ghana Water Company Limited to engage more engineers to see to the maintenance of its machines.   He said Ghanaians are skillful, creative and dynamic to manage and maintain the country’s machines and equipment.  Professor Frimpong Boateng gave the advice when he led a 9-man committee of the PURC to inspect work on the Koforidua water supply expansion project in the Eastern Region. 

He said the project when completed will increase water supply of the municipality to 4m gallons a day.  Professor Frimpong Boateng advised the public to pay their Electricity and Water bills regularly to enable the utility company’s carry out their functions effectively.  He was optimistic that the perennial water problems in the municipality will be a thing of the past after the completion of the project. 

The Project Manager, Okomeng Mensah said the first phase of the project which is 70% complete will soon be commissioned.
