Health Directorate records decline in malaria cases
The Tema Metropolitan Health Directorate recorded 43,737 malaria cases, in the first half of this year which is a decrease over the 46,943 recorded the previous year.  The decline was a result of the numerous sensitization programmes the directorate organized for the public.

The Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Directorate, Mrs. Elizabeth Odai, who disclosed this to Radio Ghana in Tema, expressed the hope that the current record will be maintained in the coming years.  She observed that in the past three year’s malaria continues to be the top most frequently reported case at the Out Patients Department.

She therefore advised the public to clean their surroundings regularly to destroy all mosquito breeding ground.
