Agriculturalists to assess and save food crisis in Africa
The President of the Ghana National Agricultural Technical Class Association, Emmanuel Fritz Kuwornu has called on agriculturalists to assess the current food crisis in Africa and use their expertise to save the situation.  He charged them to make their impacts felt by encouraging farmers to adopt new technologies.  This, he noted, would reduce poverty and improve the living standards of the populace.  He was speaking in Koforidua at the opening of a six-day meeting of the association an affiliate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Ofosu Asamoah noted that, the vision of food security and income generation will not be achievable without the use of improved seeds and other technologies that are conducive to the agro-climate.  He expressed worry about how rural-urban drift and urbanization are negatively affecting farm labour and appealed to members of the Association to expedite action to revitalize the agriculture sector.
