Clerk of Parliament back from Harare
The Clerk to Parliament, Emmanuel Anyimadu, returned home last night from Harare after observing Zimbabwe’s Presidential run-off as part of an AU Observer team. Sharing his experience, Mr. Anyimadu described the situation in Zimbabwe as worrying and said the rest of Africa must help the Zimbabwean people because the worsening economic situation is real.

On the election run-off, Mr. Anyimadu said it was peaceful, though the turn-out was low as a result of the violence. He stated that Ghana is spoken of highly in Zimbabwe and many are looking up to the country to provide leadership on the continent. The Clerk to Parliament implored African leaders to help lessen tension on the continent by abiding by their country’s constitutions.
