A 25-year-old man, Daniel Narh, has been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command for possessing a pump action gun. A statement signed by the Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Olivia Turkson, said the Police on their usual night patrols spotted a Green Opel Astra with its rear number plate removed.
It said the Police signaled the driver to stop and while he was being questioned two other occupants in the car suddenly alighted and took to their heels. The statement said the driver was arrested and a thorough search of the vehicle revealed that ammunitions were concealed under the front and back seats of the car.
It added that a further search an axe and a military cap were found in the boot. When questioned further, Daniel Narh said he picked up the two suspected criminals at the Tema Motorway Roundabout and they asked him to drive to the spot where he was arrested.
