DFP's Bede Ziedeng elected as Parliamentary candidate
Democratic Freedom Party

The General Secretary of the Democratic Freedom Party, Bede Ziedeng, has been elected by the Lawra-Nandom constituency of the party in the Upper West Region as its parliamentary candidate for the December general elections.  At a constituency delegate’s conference at Lawra, Mr. Ziedeng was the only candidate and was therefore elected by popular acclamation by all 278 delegates.

Other contestants in the race which has been described as a clash of the titans are incumbent MP Dr. Benjamin Kumbour of the NDC and the former Upper West Regional Minister, Ambrose Dery, of the NPP both of whom are also lawyers.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ziedeng thanked the delegates and supporters for reposing confidence in him. He promised to work tirelessly to win the seat for the party. He said his campaign message will be devoid of insults and intimidation and entreated his opponents to follow suit.
