The Director General of the Ghana Education service, Samuel Bannerman-Mensah, says success in life should not only depend on high academic laurels but one that is built on the character of high standards. Mr. Bannerman-Mensah made this remark in Accra at the 5th graduation of Galaxy International School.
The Ghana Education Service, GES Director General appealed to students to obey school rules and regulation to avoid any disruptions in their studies. He commended students of Galaxy International who had taken part in international competitions and excelled to continue to lift the name of the country higher.
A former Director General of the GES, Michael Nsowah, noted that with Ghana’s drive to attain a middle income status, there is the need to promote science and technology coupled with high standards of discipline in the schools. Mr. Nsowah, who is in-charge of the School Feeding Programme praised Galaxy International for winning various international awards and urged them to strive to win more laurels.
The General Manager of Galaxy Educational Company, Tamer Kirca, said that since its inception in 2001, the school can boast of 41 nationalities pursuing local and foreign examination courses, thus reflecting its true international status. He said the school attained 100% pass in this year’s Basic Education Certificate and West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations.
