Ministry denies reports of re-award of Sakumono Coastal Project contracts

The Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing has dismissed reports that the contract for the Sakumono Coastal Project has been re-awarded to a company which failed to execute the same contract four year ago. A statement released in Accra said the project being undertaken by the contractor, Messers Yiadom Builders limited started in April 2004 and was awarded by the Greater Accra Regional Advisory Tender Board.

It said as a result of non performance, the Auditor General and the Ministry of Water Resource, Works and Housing recommended that the contract be terminated. It says no contract has been awarded.

Meanwhile the Hydrological Services Department is making the necessary submission to the Greater Accra Regional Advisory Tender board for the termination of the contract.
