Health Minister Courage Quashigah

Herbal and alternative medicine practitioners have accepted a directive from the Ministry of Health, Major Courage Quarshigah to merge their three associations under a new umbrella body in order to be incorporated into the country’s health care delivery system. The new association are the Ghana Herbal Medicine Practitioners, Ghana Psychic and Spiritual Healers and Ghana Traditional Complementary Medicine Practitioners.

A former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Emmanuel Mensah told Radio Ghana that this will enable the Ministry to come out with a list of essential herbal medicine to be prescribed for patients. The President of Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Associations, GHAFTRAM Agya Kwaku Appiah said the regrouping will enable members to streamline their activities. It will also foster unity and help them fight for their common goals.
