Achimota Senior High School has been adjudged winners of the 13th edition of the National Independence Day Celebration Schools Debate. The keenly contested Competition saw Achimota School representing the southern sector, beating their counterparts from Kumasi, Prempeh College who stood for the northern zone with a score of 589 points as against 558 respectively.
GIMPA Business School (GBS) is one of the four schools of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) which has been in incision since 1961. GBS has launched a new set of Executive Education programmes targeted to the educational and management development needs of senior executives, advanced management and new managers.
Mr Alex Tettey-Enyo, Minister of Education on Friday announced that the Ministry is developing a programme for the phasing out of the school shift system. He said the sector has noted with concern the negative effect of the shift system on teaching and learning in the schools and was taking steps to redress the situation.
The Deputy Minister for Communication, Gideon Kwaku has reiterated government’s commitment to promoting ICT education in the country. This is to enable students to fit into the modern employment market. Mr. Kwaku made the remarks at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an Information Centre for the Women Training Institute (WTI) in Ho.
