NHIA presents cards to mental patients
The National Health Insurance Authority has so far registered 10,000 mental patients, orphans, and in-mates of various Leprosaria in the country for free healthcare.

The latest batch to benefit is 711 in-mates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The insurance, however, covers only physical ailments that affect the beneficiaries and does not cover mental disorders.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Mr Rojo Mettle Nunoo, who was at the event in Accra, noted the healing process for mental patients is more effective when they are re-integrated with their families, an idea, which he said, would be introduced soon.
