Rehabilitation of the nation's railways is progressing steadily throughout the target areas.

The Raiway Authority is determined to extend the rail line to as far as Hamile in the Upper West Region.

Already, the Tema - Accra stretch has been completed and would be inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama.

The Chairman of the Railway Governing Authority, Mr. Dan Markin told Radio Ghana, that the government is pursuing the agenda because it is essential to the sustenance of the economy.

Mr. Markin said, General Electric Company of America is using its own resource to rehabilitate the Western Line without a guarantee, because they have confidence in Ghana economy.
