Support government in fight against illegal mining – Kofi Dzamesi The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi, has appealed to traditional rulers to support government in the fight against illegal mining, or ‘Galamsey’ activities in the country. He reiterated that the government’s fight against illegal mining is to prevent the wanton destruction of the environment, particularly water bodies, the vegetation cover and other natural resources for sustainable development. Mr. Dzamesi made the appeal when he paid a working visit to three traditional areas, Kenyasi Number One, Kenyasi Number Two and Ntotoroso. He later had a joint meeting with the traditional rulers at Kenyasi Number One in the Asutifi North District of the Brong-Ahafo Region. ---DECRYPTED---
