Trump says he is willing to meet Iran's Rouhani

President Donald Trump says he is willing to meet the Iranian leader, Hassan Rouhani, without any preconditions.

Mr. Trump made the comments during a joint White House news conference with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

He stated that he ended the Iran deal because it was ridiculous.  President Trump said he had "no preconditions" for a meeting with the Iranians. 

His remarks come amid the US withdrawal from the landmark nuclear deal and its reimposition of sanctions against Iran.

Washington has since threatened countries that import Iranian oil with sanctions from November 4.

Meanwhile a senior Iranian official says the US should return to the nuclear deal to pave the way for any talks. 

Mr Trump believes Iran will probably want to meet him and he isready to do so.
