Parliament Decides On Whether Or Not To Suspend Or Reprimand Kennedy Agyapong

Parliament is meeting this afternoon to consider among others, the report of the Privileges Committee recommending sanctions against Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong.

The House will also be approving the Luxury Vehicles Bill 2018. MP's are expected to go on a two months break today (July 28). 

Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong was dragged before the Committee by the Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka, over the alleged contemptuous comments against Parliament and the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu. 

Speaking on GBC’s News and Current Afairs Programmer ‘Behind the News’ the Vice Chairman of the Privileges Committee of Parliament, Andrew Egyapa-Mercer, said he is optimistic that after the House makes its decision today all disputes concerning the issue will be put to rest. 

The other agenda to be considered include the approval for the construction of a number of priority projects and approval of tax waiver of water supply project in the Upper East Region.

The second reading of the Luxury Bill 2018 will be taken before the House adjourns sitting.
