Parliament joins JH Mensah's Family to observe one week of his death


Veteran politician and elder statesman, JH Mensah as he was affectionately called,  died at age 89 after a short illnes at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra  .

Born, October 31, 1928, JH was a founding member of New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr J.H. Mensah served in various ministerial positions under different governments as a leading economist. 

A seasoned politician in Ghana, his political career dated back to the 1960s when he was in charge of planning in Dr Kwame Nkrumah's government. 

He also served under Prof Kofi Abrefa Busia's regime to January 6, 2009.

He was also a representative of the people of Sunyani in Parliament
