STRANEK reacts to nomination of new EC Chair

The Strategic Thinkers Network -Africa STRANEK has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's nomination of a Chairperson for the Electoral Commission, since that seat must not be left unoccupied for too long. 

However, STRANEK is of the view that the President should have waited for the outcome of the suits with regards to the way and manner in which the EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei and her two deputies were removed. 

STRANEK says it is shocked by the publicity that the nominations have generated when the Council of State is yet to give its advice. 

A statement signed by the Executive Director of STRANEK Nii Tettey Tetteh, says it suspects that the wide publicity may be a disguised way to push the Council of State to accept the nominations hook, line and sinker. 

STRANEK believes the President should involve all Political Parties in the selection of the EC bosses in order to have a fair and neutral selection.
