Deplorable roads in Nkrumah's hometown to be fixed Funds have been secured to reconstruct the deplorable road leading to Nkroful, the birthplace of Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah. The road has been in a terrible shape for many years despite promises by previous governments to fix it. The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle District in the Western Region, Kwesi Bonzu, announced this on an Accra based private Radio station. Family of the late President and other users of the road have on many occasions pleaded for for the road to be fixed to improve the tourism attraction there. Mr. Kwesi Bonzu, hinted that the government of Ghana and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and a mining company, Adamus Resources are collaborating to bring woes of motorists to an end.
