Police in Zimbabwe have ban opposition party on protesting before elections


Police in Zimbabwe have banned an opposition protest ahead of the July 30, landmark elections. 

Meanwhile Zimbabwe's main opposition presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa, says he is confident of victory, despite what he calls the "machinations and shenanigans" of the electoral commission to help President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zanu-PF party to stay in power.  

Mr Chamisa, described the EC as “stubborn and "arrogant" and had violated the law in its election preparations.  

He alleged that the commission has for instance, failed to disclose how many ballot papers had been printed, and what measures have been taken to ensure they were secure.
