Government suspends deadline for foreigners to halt retail trade

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has suspended the deadline for removing foreigners from Ghana’s retail markets.

According to a public notice issued and signed by Ebenezer Padi Adjirackor/Acting Chief Director from the Ministry on Wednesday, "this is to intensify sensitisation and education in the domestic retail trade."

It will be recalled that the Ministry served notice to all foreigners engaged in the retail sector to move out of the retail sector by Friday, July 27.

But the notice said the the exercise has been suspended.
