Parents urged to invest in education

A Youth Empowerment Coach, Prosper Afetsi says parents and other stakeholders should not pay lip service to investing in the education of the youth. 

This is because education is critical for the youth to be equipped with the needed skills to manage both human and material resources for societal advancement to guarantee a better future for the country.  

Mr Afetsi who is also President of the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET) was speaking at the graduation of Saint Charles Schools in Accra. 

He expressed concern about how some parents take loan for funeral cloths, parties and other social activities at the expense of their children's education. 

He urged parents to preserve the environment for future generations and also ensure that children get a good start up in life.

Mr. Afetsi raised issues with the challenge of fighting Corruption, and warned that children should not get the impression that corruption is a norm.

The Headmaster of  Saint Charles Schools, Robert Quaye, said discipline is a critical ingredient for any successful endeavour and therefore charged students to be worthy ambassadors in society.

Mr. Quaye was happy that management was able to provide the school with a modern computer laboratory to enhance Information and Communication Technology activities. He commended the school's representatives for taking the 4th position out of the 42 schools that participated in a challenge and quiz competition recently organized by the Foundation for Generational Thinkers and the Ghana National Association of Private Schools. 

The school received a three-in-one printer and cash price of GH¢200.00 [two hundred Ghana cedis] as its prize.
