Asawase shooting: Independent Commission of Enquiry gets underway July 25 The Minister of Inner City and Zongo Development, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique, says an independent Commission of Enquiry will be set up by close of day Wednesday July 25 to find out the truth behind the shooting of the seven suspected armed robbers at Asawase. In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, Alhaji Saddique noted that the Commission would be expected to present its report in the shortest possible time. It will be recalled that last week, residents, predominantly youth from Asawase protested vehemently about the alleged killing of seven of their peers by the Police. According to the youth, the seven were allegedly mistaken by the police for eight masked armed robbers who had earlier attacked a sprinter bus and, in the process, shot and killed a police officer at Ayirebikrom, near Manso Nkwanta, in the Amasie West District of the Ashanti Region. gbcghanaonline.com ---DECRYPTED---
