Great-grandad visited by cops after neighbour complained of ‘farting’ noises A GREAT-grandad was visited by police after a neighbour complained about hearing “offensive noises” — from a child’s fart machine. Colin Mitchell, 75, was stunned to be warned not to press the blowing-off button too often. The widower fumed: “What a waste of police time.” His great-grandson Charlie, three, had been playing with the remote-controlled toy during a Sunday afternoon visit. But he then got a knock on the door from the police, who said his neighbour had made a complaint. Colin said: “If I had rung the police up on a Sunday they would have told me where to go for wasting their time. But they came to my door because Charlie was playing with a fart toy. Colin's great-grandson Charlie had been playing with the remote controlled toy on a weekend visit. “The police do an amazing job but it is ridiculous when they don’t have the manpower or money that someone can call them out for such a stupid job.” The retired lorry driver, from St Albans, Herts, said it was the latest in a string of disputes with his neighbour of 25 years. Colin, said: “All I can say is that on a Sunday, don’t break wind in front of that woman’s house because you are going to get arrested. She should be ashamed of herself for making such a big issue over a fart. “I could understand if it came from real flatulence but it’s my little great-grandson. It’s highly amusing to young children.” The neighbour declined to comment when approached by The Sun. Herts Police said a police community support officer attended the incident on July 15 and “words of advice have been given to both parties”. A spokeswoman added: “Neighbour disputes can have a detrimental effect on the quality of residents’ lives. We will always ensure those reporting disputes receive a proportionate response and are listened to.” Source: THESUN ---DECRYPTED---
