The Daily Graphic shares the concern of those who are pleading with the government to lift the ban on fishing and impose it next year. Nonetheless, the paper is pleading with them to accept the decision since it is an appropriate measure to conserve marine life. The paper is of the view that the next time, the fisher-folk should be sensitised adequately about the ban prior to its implementation. The paper also suggests that the ministry should work hand in hand with our fisher folk immediately the ban is lifted and encourage them to save some money to sustain them during the period of the ban. The Daily Graphic hopes fishermen and fishmongers will cooperate to make the ban succeed.
