Ghana record first win as Black sticks beat Zimbabwe in Africa Youth hockey Games The Ghana Junior national youth hockey team began their campaign of the Youth Africa games ongoing in Algeria on a whirlwind note after thrashing their Zimbabwean counterparts in their opening game this morning. The Black sticks secured a sailing four nil victory to take a giant step towards qualification to the world youth games that will be hosted by Argentina this year. The Ghanaians went into the game with full optimism haven boasted of their fervent preparations and readiness before the start of the competion and it wasn't much of a surprise they were able to brush aside Zimbabwe by scoring four in their first game. The result therefore brightens the chances of team Ghana to audition for one of the available two slots which will afford two African countries to participate in the november hockey championship in Argentina. With four teams competing with themselves, team Ghana will have to play two remaining matches in the coming days which will determine a qualification proper to the championship.
