President Akufo-Addo cuts sod for Left Bank Irrigation expansion  

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo on Friday, July 13, cut the sod for the rehabilitation of the Kpong Left Bank Irrigation Scheme at Torgorme in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region. 

The Project among other things is expected to promote an all-year-round farming and in effect boost farming activities in the District. 

Cutting the sod for the project at the end of his three-day working tour of the Volta Region, President Akufo Addo reiterated his commitment to implement policies that will revamp the agriculture sector to ensure food security in the country. 
 
The Kpong Left Bank Irrigation Scheme at Torgorme in the North Tongu District is part of four major three irrigation schemes being rehabilitated and modernized by the Ministry of Agriculture.
