NHIA Proposes New Taxes To Save Scheme From Collapse The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is appealing to all its stakeholders, and indeed Ghanaians to support proposals to increase funding for the scheme. The Chief Executive of the Authority, Dr. Samuel Yaw Annor, said the move will automatically improve and expand the services the scheme can cover. Dr Samuel Annor is therefore, proposing a number of tax measures to complement existing funding sources to save the scheme from collapse. The NHIA boss made these suggestions when he together with other members of the Authority paid a working visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu in Accra. Radio Ghana’s Gloria Anderson reports that the NHIA officials held wide ranging engagements with Dr. Nuhu Sharubutu on ways to restructure the scheme to make it fit for purpose now and in the future. gbcghanaonline ---DECRYPTED---
