NPP mourns J.H. Mensah; Party flags to fly at half-mast

The NPP will be flying its flag at half-mast at the National headquarters in Accra and all party offices throughout the country for the next seven days in honour of late Politician J H Mensah.  

J.H. Mensah, a founding member of the NPP, died yesterday morning at the 37 Military Hospital at the age of 89. 

The NPP in a statement signed by the General Secretary, John Boadu, said Mr. Mensah's contribution to the NPP political tradition and Ghana at large cannot be over emphasized and thus, his passing, is such an immeasurable loss to the party and  the country.

It said the Party has indeed lost a father, mentor and a colossus and extends condolences to Mr. Mensah’s family and friends. 

Born on October 30, 1928, J.H. Mensah’s served as Finance Minister under Kofi Abrefa Busia’s Progress Party (PP) administration from 1969 to 1972, which was cut short by Ignatius Kutu Acheampong’s coup.  

He was also the Senior Minister under Former President John Agyekum Kufuor's government.
