Prez describes JH Mensah as 'a genuine democrat' President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commiserated with the family of the late Joseph Henry Mensah who died on Thursday (July 12), at the 37 Military Hospital and has promised to duly honour him. President Akufo-Addo on his Facebook timeline and in series of tweets described the late J.H. Mensah as a “fine public servant and a genuine democrat.” The president said, he is greatly saddened by the news of the death of Joseph Henry Mensah, affectionately called JH. He described the late JH Mensah as a fine public servant, and a genuine democrat and his greatest mentors, and a valued and trusted counsellor.

The 89-year-old veteran politician died on Thursday at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra where he had been on admission for ill health. He is a founding member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and served as both Majority and Minority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament.
