13th July, 2018 The Daily Graphic applauds President Akufo-Addo for inaugurating a board to make the office of the Special Prosecutor complete. The paper welcomes the board and reminds the members of the huge expectation of Ghanaians from the office. The paper says report of the country losing three billion dollars annually, through corruption is worrying and this is why the inauguration of the board is timely. The Graphic urges the Office of the Special Prosecutor to follow due process and the principles of the rule of law in the discharge of its duties. The Ghanaian Times writes on the suggestion offered to government by an economist and senior lecturer, Dr. Eric Osei-Assibey, to adopt an aggressive tax policy by the imposition of new taxes, reviewing VAT and also placing taxes on mobile money and online transactions. Though the paper believes revenue generation is critical to development, unnecessary taxation is not the way to go. It therefore suggests other ways of addressing revenue leakages since the implementation of these taxes could worsen the economic situation of Ghanaians. gbcghanaonline ---DECRYPTED---
