7th July, 2018 The Daily Graphic and the Ghanaian Times write on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates conference taking place in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital. The Graphic commends the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the processes leading to the organisation of the conference, saying they have been largely smooth and successful. The Paper says the election of officers to handle the affairs of the party should not be a do or die affair but an exercise whose occurrence is demanded by the party's constitution. The Graphic notes that those to be elected would not be in office forever and hopes they would serve a successful term after which another opportunity will come up for others to contest. It admonishes any aspirant who fails to make it at today's conference to take solace in the fact that it is not the end of the road and that there are more opportunities in the future. The Graphic wishes the NPP and all contestants a successful conference. The Ghanaian Times, for its part, urges the NPP delegates as well as the contestants to engage in a healthy competition, devoid of personal attacks and to act in ways that would preserve the good name of the party. The Paper says the responsibility placed on the delegates to elect the calibre of officers to work to retain the party in power, is enormous. The Times equally wishes all delegates a successful conference and hopes at the end of the election, there would be no individual loser or winner but rather the entire party becomes the winner.
