MP calls for amendment to Coroners Act

The MP for Kumbungu in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak, is pushing for the amendment to the Coroners Act to allow for Muslims who lose a loved one to have their bodies released to the family within 24 hours for burial.

Speaking to Felix Cofie, Mr. Mubarak said the current law places a lot of inhibitions on the way Muslim families retrieve their dead relatives from the morgue for burial. 

This he said is against their religion which requires that a Muslim who dies should be buried within 24 hours.
