The Daily Graphic commends the Veterinary Services Division of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the timely intervention in testing samples of the Avian Influenza virus and sending more to the World Animal Health Organization for further screening. The paper lauds the service for quarantining the affected birds to avoid the spread of the disease, and also applauds the ministry for the caution already given to all district veterinary officers to put in more control measures to contain the disease as well as ensure that there is no movement of birds around. The paper encourages MOFA to intensify education on the diseases especially for poultry farmers, and the general public. It also urges the government to continue to resource the Veterinary Services Division to be able to detect such outbreaks early. The paper asks that we all should do our part to help contain the disease. 
                              
The Ghanaian Times revisits the story of the $2.5 million two-storey parliamentary office complex that has been abandoned for over four years. The paper says the painful thing is that tax payers money, of a whopping $2.5 million was used in undertaking the project which has been left to rot. The Ghanaian Times says the neglect and activities of miscreants is likely to cause further damage to the building which would then require a lot of money to rehabilitate. It says the building in question was built for a particular purpose especially for use by Parliamentarians and therefore beggars belief that it has been left unoccupied for such a long period. The paper urges parliament to take steps to end the shameful spectacle and to either put the place to use or give it up for use by other interested institutions. 
               
The Daily Heritage says it is time to arrest fake news peddlers who create unnecessary storm in the media. The paper says these people usually do this on weekends and spread the bogus news on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media platforms to deceive the unsuspecting public. It says sadly not a single person has been apprehended. The Heritage contends that the police and other security agencies appear not to know how to trace the sources of the fake news so the perpetrators always have their own way.
