Blood donations 'expected' to increase by 50% in 2018 The National Blood Service of Ghana is expecting a 50% increase in blood donation nationwide this year. In its 2017 Annual Performance Review meeting in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer of the Service, Dr. Justina Kordai Ansah encouraged Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of donating blood. This year's Annual Performance Review Meeting of the National Blood Service of Ghana was dubbed, 'Partnership for hundred percent voluntary unpaid blood donation in Ghana'. The Chief Executive Officer of the National Blood Service of Ghana, Dr. Justina Kordai Ansah presented an overview of the performance of the the Service in the year under review. The Director for Alternative and Traditional Medicine, Dr. Anastasia Yirenkyi commended the National Blood Donor Association of Ghana in its efforts to save lives, adding that the Government is committed to providing the necessary human resources.
