ECOWAS leaders arrive in Accra for Meeting on Single Currency Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has indicated that the adoption of a single currency by ECOWAS would enhance economic co-operation in the sub-region. He, therefore, urged ECOWAS nations to implement sound economic policies to meet the convergence criteria by 2020. Dr. Bawumia said this when he welcomed President of Cote d’Ivoire Alassane Ouattara and President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger yesterday for the Fifth Meeting of the Presidential Taskforce on the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme which comes off today in Accra.
